This show is a recording from May 2009 with our good friends Karl Hector & The Malcouns who have performed for us about 6 times now.
One of the tightest collectives of musicians we have had the pleasure of welcoming to ChoiceCuts, this show will take you all over the world with some incredible rhythms, melodies and arrangements all tied together with afro-tinged funk music originating from the Southern Sahara and played by some of the tightest German funk musicians you can hear these days.
Karl Hector has, to date, only appeared on one 7-inch, from 1996, as the leader of the Funk Pilots.  Players on this recording include Jay Whitefield (producer and guitarist for the Poets of Rhythm and the Whitefield Brothers, and founder of the now defunct Hotpie & Candy Records) and Thomas Myland and Zdenko Curlija, founders of The Malcouns so this is a top-notch ChoiceCuts exclusive and we’re delighted to be able to bring you this recording from our Dublin live show.
