Honest Jon’s is the influential West London label co-owned by Damon Albarn which specialises in releasing wonderful music; from post-war black music in Britain to African highlife; from 70s English folk to modern Southern Soul.

Back in 2008 the first-ever Honest Jon’s Chop Up (Chop Up is Nigerian slang for ‘feast’) was presented at the Barbican in London.  It was a riotous feast of music from global artists who all had recorded for the label.

And now it’s back, another helping of extraordinary artists with new releases all performing and collaborating in this unique show. This new project features Damon Albarn, Afrobeat legend Tony Allen and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea. Also on the bill is hotly tipped Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Chicago brass sensation Hypnotic Brass and Detroit techno/house alchemist Theo Parrish.

More news on this show as we get it, there’s going to be many more artists announced as this will be a 25 persons deep live performance… only four happening worldwide so tickets are advised!
