Waxpoetics gets better and better…connecting the dots for the beat generation, WP weaves in and out of the best of music culture past and present, well written articles, excellent content and always something to go back to after the first read, this is more than a magazine and a ‘Readers Digest’ of sorts for the music afficianado.
Issue number 33 pays homage to the east coast city of Philadelphia..producers like Gamble & Huff, Teddy Predergrass, everyone’s favourites The Stylistics and covers all the soul, jazz and Hip Hop output from the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ over the past 40 years.
If your in the digital download buying demographic and fancy the depth of crate digging but without getting paper cuts, dust and having to transfer your records to WAV, then you could do yourself a favour and check out Waxpoetics online catalogue of choice cuts and obscurities. Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions, the downloads are only available in the states but this has already become one of the most eclectic vendors of digital downloads and anyone who has been buying and following Waxpoetics progression will know, it can only get better. Currently the site serves Europe with a great research resource and hopefully soon we can begin downloading content from the site as the lawyers get the finger out…
Good work Waxpoetics crew! Expect to see a ChoiceCuts/Waxpoetics Event in some shape or form in the near future!
